The McQueen Boys Lacrosse team was begun in 2011 under Coach Steve King, who continued to coach the team through the 2016 season, including the development of JV team.
Following Coach King's departure, Coach Richard Flores took over the program for the 2017 season, successfully helming the program through 2021. Under his tenure, McQueen Boys Lacrosse routinely competed for the Northern Nevada Regional Championship, including winning the championship in 2018.
The 2022 season brought not only Coach Flores departure, but also Covid. Unfortunately, the effects were widespread, including at the lacrosse level.
For the 2023 season, Coach Gabe Lambert gamely took up the challenge of rebuilding a program. For the 2023 season the team had a roster of just 15 players, most of them seniors, but thanks to some dedicated recruiting by returning players and experienced and excited freshman, the team turned out 25 players in 2024, many of them picking up a stick for the very first time. With renewed enthusiasm among the students, a new Board aimed at supporting the long term continuation of the program, and a foundation of excited and improving players, 2024 is shaping up to be a competitive season and one that will help put the McQueen Boys Lacrosse program back on a solid footing.
